Great news for our Android Flashcard App users, and for those who are thinking of using it soon.

The best anticipated news: as of now, our Android Flashcard App is FREE!

IMPORTANT: If you have installed CoboCards v1 manually, please uninstall first and delete folder „com.cobocards“ from your SD-card. Then install CoboCards v2 from Play Store.

And now to the details of the features that are provided in this version.

General Features of the Flashcard App:

Changing Font Size

Upon your request in the wishlist, you can now enlarge the font size of the cards using: Menu →  Settings.

Auto-Sync the Android Flashcard App with the Server

The automatic sync in the end of a learning session at an existing internet connection is another request that has been implemented in this version. As a result, the learning levels and other changes (formatting, new Flashcards… etc.) will be synced.

Creating an Account

Registering in the Android Flashcard App is now easy-peasy. Your password is sent to your valid email address. And although you can –as usual- be directly in the App, you’ll have to login at least once in order to be able to use all functions.

Landscape Format

It is now possible to learn in landscape format as well. The rotation can be adjusted under: “Settings”.

Activating the Complete Functions

This feature is now also possible directly on the Flashcard App. Renewing your membership is possible as well.

Design Adjustments

We have improved the look of the design a little bit. The buttons have been particularly moved from the Menu to the Action Bar.

Unlimited Functionality of the Flashcard App:

Displaying/ Creating Folders

As of now, and upon your request, the folders will appear in the Android Flashcard App. If a flashcard set that is located in a folder is being downloaded, then the flashcard set will be downloaded together with this folder at the same time. In addition, you can now create folders directly on your Smartphone. Please note, that when you remove a folder (by pressing on the folder and holding for a while) then the folder will be removed from the Smartphone. The permanent deletion must be done online.

Creating Flashcard Sets

Another new and requested feature is the ability to create flashcard sets. Again, if you press and hold for a while the flashcard sets will be removed, but won’t be permanently deleted.

Creating/ Deleting Cards

This feature was also on the wishlist of our users, so we have implemented it. Now you can create lists and tables with a click. The card will be deleted in the deleting process.

Editing/ Formatting Cards

This may be the most difficult feature to be implement on the wishlist; but we still did it. LaTeX formulas cannot be edited on mobile devices.  Uploading a picture is also not possible, and therefore difficult to implement. Otherwise the familiar formatting options are available.

Searching for Cards

Requested by Markus on the wishlist, this feature is now introduced to our Android Flashcard App users. You can now enter text, tap the magnifying glass and select from the search results. You can then navigate (browse) through the flashcard set as well.

Leitner- Algorithm

As requested, we have also introduced learning by following our e-coach’s guidelines. This option can be activated for each flashcard set. You can then see the cards that are to be revised for that day in ‘Home’. Tapping this number will direct you –without detours- to the inquiry of the cards.

Display/create folder
Remove folders by pressing the folder for 2 seconds. Please be aware that folder is just removed. Deletion has to be done online.

Leitner algorithm
Activate algorithm for each set and you will see the amount of flashcards directly in „Home“.

Edit/format flashcards
Latex code cannot be edited. Please do this online.
