Teacher Have to Like Students

Yesterday, I was at the EduDay organised by the Local Authorities of our hometown. There I met Professor Gerald Hüther, a scientifist doing research on human brain.
The central message of workshop was that teachers have to like their students and have to concentrate on their needs rather than doing what authorities tell them to do. As an example he said that parents want their children to learn a foreign language at kindergarden. Children don’t know what it is good for. Hence, it is not important for them to learn another language.
Teachers have to focus on their needs and have to encourage them. 50 years ago children with Down-Syndrome were put in hospitals. Now they get high-school diploma.
In my next blogpost I will report about my second workshop I have joined where a school in Berlin has introduced a new system of teaching. And they are quiet successful with it.
