This paper analyzes the budget of the State of Texas and its Agencies of Education given that education is one of the state’s primary strategic thrusts from 2015 to 2017.  For the purpose of this study, there will be two main periods:
•Fiscal year (FY) 2014-2015 budgets – proposed in 2013 under former Governor Rick Perry.
•Fiscal year (FY) 2016-2017- which is the current budget request under Texas’ new Governor Greg Abbott.
